So I thought Lets Review Myself on what did I do this year ?
what did I loose or gained ? What did I make or break ? Where I had been or not
been ? I will provide you a month by Month Analysis of my 2013.
January
2013 started with a BIG
BANG for me Perhaps the biggest month up till now in the history of me. I had received
a job offer from Luxembourg in Europe in OCT 2012 and I had accepted the offer
and January was the Month that I was supposed to move there.
Well it was big month for me as I had been Outside India
before but not like this, not for 2 Years. So this was big step for me both financially
and emotionally.
I was going to miss my family and friends a lot. When I
arrived at Luxembourg I had the experience of my First Snowfall which is good
enough for a few days but then it got boring and sad. I moved during the
Hardcore Winter Time to LUX.
High’s : Moving to Luxembourg.
Low’s : Missing my family and friends.
February
This I believe was the most Longest month of my life. Most
of the Month was spent in searching for a new apartment. Work was hectic and I
lived in a Small Studio Hotel Room provided by the company. Talking to my
friends back in India I was getting angry, jealous and sad because they were
still going out on Friday and Saturday nite's and here I was stuck in my Hotel
Room with no friends and nowhere to go. Temperature outside hitting new Low’s
like it -16 or something.
Winters especially FEB in Europe is big thumbs down people
are cooped in their houses not going out and all It Sucks. Also I was not able
to find any apartment for me to Move into for the whole month and believe
searching for apartments in Freezing Temperatures is not so exciting. Finally
by the End of the month I found an Apartment which was close to my work place
and had an Amazing view. The building was OLD but the view was to Die For.
High’s : Found an Apartment and my First Euro Salary.
Low’s : The Freezing Temperature.
March
March was more similar to February in terms of the weather
and all. However there was some respite friendship wise as there were some
people who moved from India and I had some friends who I could talk too. Most
of the Month was spent working sometimes even on the Weekends However nothing
special Happened in March. However Barca's Comeback Against Milan after a 2-0
defeat was simply awesome.
High’s : Barcelona Come Back victory against Milan and Made
a good friend who Relocated to Lux from India.
Low’s : Still
Freezing .
April
In April it started to warm down a bit but only a bit it was
still cold but getting better day by day. However April started out very bad
for me My HOTEL said that they could not extend my stay and that I had to leave.
Yes I was still leaving in a hotel Even though I had an Apartment and I was
paying rent for the same for the past 1 month. The reason I was still in the
Hotel was because my Cargo from India had not arrived yet. It took them more
than 3 month to ship and it was getting on my nerves. So finally with lot of
Bags I had to move into my cold and empty apartment. However I did get the
Cargo after a week or so after sleeping on my cold apartment floor. I also
joined the group of Couch Surfing which is an internationally known group who
like to share their couches or Sofa for people who are travelling the world.
Also I was sad that I missed HOLI :( . but the best thing about this month was
that I bought my First Mercedes. Yes I say my first Mercedes because yes I am
going to buy many more. It was Mercedes C200 which is like the Lowest One but
you always start from the bottom right. We Had Easter holiday in April so we
decided to rent a car and Visit Berlin!!! It was good experience Big City with
Great History. My Cousin was getting married in India and I was here hearing
that all my family had gathered for the wedding kind of made me sad.

Low’s : Missing my
Cousin's marriage, Missed HOLI and being Humiliated by the Hotel Guys.
May
Spring was finally here and it was time to throw away the
BIG HEAVY WINTER Jackets and to wear Light Sweaters. This was the month I had
my first Couch Surfer a girl from Russia who was travelling around Europe by hitchhiking
and she was an expert in Hitchhiking she had travelled more than 70,000 KM and
65 countries only By hitchhiking. She wanted to hitch hike to India however I
told her that all the countries bordering India are their enemies so it may be
difficult. Attended my first Couch surfing meeting of Luxembourg made a few
friends some who I will mention later. Prasad (The Indian friend who relocated
with me to Lux) were actively involved in Couch Surfing events. I had my First
PUB Crawl with my friends until now I did not know what a PUB Crawl Was. I
started making friends thick and fast and I did not feel lonely no more. I also drove to Antwerp just to have Dosa (a south Indian Dish) it was around 250 Km.
High’s : Couch Surfing Group, Events and Friends.
Low’s : Not exactly a
LOW Month.
June
The summer was finally Here the sun used to SET at around 10
Pm in the night which was awesome lots of day time to roam around and have some
fun. The people in the city started to be more joyful and have fun which made
it even more appealing. I visited Interlaken; Switzerland had my first hostel experience.
Attended my first 2 Day Rock Festival in Luxembourg it was good. Attended the
Luxembourg National Day Fireworks Ceremony which was legendary with my couch surfing friends but the after party
was to DIE For. The whole city was on the Streets Partying it was Amazing. The
Rock Festival was really good had a nice VIBE to it. Liz, Tom and I became
really good friends. We also planned our next Event.
High’s : The Summer, National Day After Party, National Day
Fireworks ... The Entire month of June !!!
Low’s : Still missed
my Family.

July
The Summer was still on and we were having PICNICS at 9 Pm
in the night can you imagine that it was so amazing. I visited Paris for annual
Paris CS event.
The EVENT was not at all Interesting however Paris was
beautiful. Saw the Eiffel Tower, did some stupid shopping, bought my HARD ROCK
T-Shirt from Paris.
Walked a lot in PARIS.I will be visiting it again. This was
the first Long Ride with My CAR. This was also the Month that my sister got
engaged and I was sad
because I was not there to be a Part of it.

August
We Gonne Party !!! BECOZZ!! IT's MY BDAY!!! PARTY!! BECOZZ!!!
IT's MY BDAY !!! yes it's my B'day month and as every year it did not
Disappoint it was also liz's Bday Month her B'day was on the 9th and mine on
the 2nd.We had a Pub Crawl organized for my B'Day along with some Open air
Movie I think it was Charlie Chaplin's "The Great Dictator" but the
Highlight was the Trip to Spain. I and LIZ had planned this with others but
others backed so it was only me and Liz that were left. There is an Entire Blog
about my Spain Trip it was absolutely amazing especially when I saw Camp Nou
for the first Time. It was like a dream come true.
High’s : Spain

September
Autumn was here and the temperature started to drop.The spain
trip was my last long vacation for the year.I had to preserve my vacation
days until January for my sister's wedding. So September was all about
work.Still I had time to hang out with friends and visit a few places.Xavier B
(One of my couch surfing friends) organized a get together at his place and it
was really good.September we visited a lot of friends at their home. Pierre B
had a games night at his place which was awesome especially SLANDER MAN.I had
made a good group of friends who liked to roam around visit places and have fun
quite similar to my peops in India.

October
Nothing much happened in my life was mostly at work or
home.A very Dull month.
High’s : Nothing
Low’s : Nothing
November
Winter is Coming!!! Winter had arrived with temperature
going down into the negatives. The BIG HEAVY winter Jackets were back on. This
Time I was prepared for it. Made a new Friend Rosa she is Valencia and similar
to me new to Lux. We had a couch surfing Event to Amsterdam where I had the
Space Cake it was similar to Bhang but it was stronger and lasted for a long time.
It was fun to be walking around Amsterdam HIGH. Amsterdam Made me realize that
it was good to live a little and also that I SNORED while sleeping I kept
explaining that I was just breathing. So When I got back to Luxembourg I fixed
an Appointment to get me Deviated Septum Operated. It was Diwali time in India
and I was missing it. Halloween was a drag and not that much fun.
High’s: High in Amsterdam.
Low’s: Missing Diwali and Snoring.
December
So we finally Arrive to December.It started of with Lot of work
and paying off a lot of bills.However the christmas period was magical from 1st
till the 25th Dec the City was lit up like a candle it was so beautiful all the
small X'Mas shops.I attended 2 X'Mas Markets one in Cologne and one in Trier
both in Germany.There is nothing Open or working on X'mas day here so those
days was kind of boring. X'Mas is a big family thing here in Europe so people
like and always will spend it with Family similar to Diwali in India.Most of my
European Friends were out to visit thier families and friends. I was in
Luxembourg getting ready for my Big Next year.

Low’s : Missing out
on New Year Celebrations.
So this was my Year In Review.
I still miss my Family and Friends back in India however
here I have found new friends who have helped me get over the Loneliness that I
faced when I arrived in Europe.
