My Trip to Interlaken Switzerland !!!

Interlaken Switzerland !!! Why Interlaken when I could have picked any place I wanted to go in Europe ? Well the Answer is simple I wanted to be in some place where i can be alone for few days and go around the city alone ... Interlaken is perfect for that it's not as busy as Paris ... not as business minded as Berlin ... not as Religious as Rome .... it's just a beautiful place and Yes most of them speakenzie the English ... Which is a big plus. Also it's small and quiet and not many site seeing options u know some places where you run around whole day just going from one site to the other ... it kind of becomes exhaustive and at the end you don't get to spend enough time at the place.

The Journey !!!

I had thought of taking the RYAN Air flight to Interlaken !!! Which would have been cheaper but decided against that because I wanted to experience the Trains !!! So I booked the train tickets to Interlaken from Luxembourg it cost around 200 Euros ... Yes Yes !!! It's expensive ... It was train which started from Brussels - Luxembourg - Metz - Strassbourg - Mullhouse - Basel ... from Basel I had to change the train to Interlaken OST. I started on 24th Morning at 10:39 Am from luxembourg and reached Interlaken at 5:55 PM and let me say that train ride was not so boring it goes through some amazing scenary however I would suggest to take the flight instead because its faster atleast till basel and then catch the train from Basel.

The Stay !!!

I had booked a Hostel in Interlaken it was called the Funny Farm it's in Matten it's kind of place in Interlaken.I booked the hostel online through hostels.com so you can get the details from there. The booking experience was quite good .. the  site  was good and all just had to mention it so that you guyz can give it a try it's really good specially for people who are travelling alone and don't want to pay much for their stay. So after reaching InterLaken OST station I followed the directions for the hostel provided by the site and got lost. After trying to figure out for 30 Mins and failing I asked a person does he know the place.He did not say anything he just smiled took my bag put it in the back of his car and pointed to sit in the car I noticed that his wife seated in the front seat and she told me that she speaks english and that they will drop you to the hostel as it was on their way .... That was so fucking NICE !!! Finally I reached the hostel and after thanking them for 20 times I went into the reception of the hotel they took down my details and gave me a card.The Importance of this card is that within InterLaken you can get discount with this card for certain attractions like site seeing attractions also you could use the bus for free. Nice !!! The Receptionist gave me the keys for my room she was not formally dressed or talked formally which I liked and expected as it was not a big as hotel which charge you half the fee for the very same shit !!! How are you sir and all that ... Thinking that it was hostel and I will be sharing the room with some other people from the other part of the world ... I was excited but to my disappointment my entire stay in the hostel I was alone in the room with 1 Bunk Bed and 2 single beds to keep me company and TV off course. The Internet was only available in the lobby as the form of free wifi which was little bit inconvenient but I could live with that. the Best part of the Stay was the View and it was just simply beautiful you could see the snow covered mountains from room balcony and that was Awesome !!!

First Day !!!

My First Day in InterLaken was spent in finding the hostel. So as soon as I reached the hostel room I took a dump,took a few pictures from my mobile camera and uploaded it to FaceBook to make my friends jealous. Then I went for a walk and this is when I realized which I had noticed before when I entered Interlaken but forgot to mention it earlier.Nearly 60% population in Interlaken are tourist comming from different part of the world. Off that 60% almost 20% are indians,30% are chinese and then the rest of the world mostly from the middle east. So if i would have shouted out a bad word in hindi very loudly atleast 20 people would have come to beat me estimating that 100 people heard me. Most of them were visiting on their own. No stupid tourist buses no guides just of the train like me and walking around alone. Nice !!! Back to me well after walking for little while I got my self a map just so that I know where I have to return and started searching for something to shop or buy to remember the trip. I had noticed in one of the blogs that they had mentioned to buy a swiss knife from there because there are lot of shops over there who sell swiss knife well to my amazement all the shops sold swiss knife even KIOSK (it's like a small tourist shop which is present in almost all the countries in europe) but they were damn expensive. So after not buying anything and walking around for a while I started feeling hungry.Well here is the thing about me when I am alone I try to avoid Indian food as much as possible.So I had some italian food. Then Went back to hostel watched some stupid movie on my laptop and slept.

Second Day !!!

Got up at around 11 Am !!! Who cares I am on a vaccation !!! then went out to get some breakfast. After having some breakfast I realized that there was a spot I could visit today it was called HarderKlum !!! It was like this old monument which situated in the top of a mountain. There was an Altitude difference of almost 800 Meters. So I started my Trek to the TOP ... Really you are thinking that I will trek all the way there !!! There is this small train that takes you there it takes around 10 Mins in the train to reach and it cost 13 Francs since you have the special card which I told you about earlier otherwise its 16 Francs. On Top there is a restaurant and a beautiful view I was there for some time admiring the view and clicking pictures it was beautiful.You could see the beautiful Lakes of THUN and ----- divided by the InterLaken city.I guess now I know what InterLaken means between Lakes see figured out all by self no wiki,no guide. So Back to the scenary it was simply beautiful you could see the Valley behind InterLaken filled with small houses. They did not have a single high rising building which was a great thing other wise it would have spoilt the beauty of this place.So I stood there admiring the beauty for some time sipping on my Hot Choclate it was Nice !!! After comming down from HarderKlum I went to HOOTERS !!! I wanted to know what is there so much to HOOT About well besides the waitress being X-SuperModels the food was not that bad. So After having a burger over there I went to the train station to enquire about the ticket to JungFrau Region. It's the highest point of Europe and is very cold but after listening to the price I just dropped the idea it was 200 Euros for a 2 and half hour train ride I thought i will give this one a miss after all it was only 4559 Meters Above sea level :P .so I went back to my room watched some movie and slept !! You may be thinking why is he not visiting more places or trying out different stuff or going to some pub or something !!!  Well This is my vaccation I like to do stuff which I like which is first and foremost Relaxing !!! I don't Care if I don't see anything I just want to relax and relieve of all the Stress.

Third Day !!!

The First Day I came here it was raining heavily and I thought that the whole time I would be stuck in my Hostel room Doing nothing,The second day it was kind of cloudy and rained in the evening but I did not totally loose that day as I was able to go to HarderKlum and roam around for a while. The Third Way was SUPER !!! It was sunny,there was no cold winds blowing,Clear Sky perfect day for a boat ride on the Lake.The Boat Ride that I took was from InterLaken West to THUN which approximately takes 2 Hours and it cost 54 Francs. But other than some scenary and some old castles the boat ride was pretty much boring and finally I had time to take some pictures of mine as earlier I was busy taking pictures of the scenary :D. Well After the boat dropped me off at THUN near the railway station.I straight away took the next train back to InterLaken as I could not do the boat thing again. Btw the water in the Lake was light blue which really nice and there was no smell from the water that means the city dumps it's shit somewhere else.  Nice !!! Well this was the last thing I did in InterLaken the next morning I got up packed all my stuff in this newly bought backpack and left.

Free Advices ::

1.            Try the plane

2.            Don't shop in InterLaken except if it is for Winter Clothes and your shopping for it in the summer.

3.            Don't Buy watches from there (you get cheaper stuff in India)

4.            Don't goto JungFrau if you are alone it's more like a HoneyMoon Spot which you will enjoy with a companion.

5.            Buy a Swiss Knife.Buy it you will know what I mean when you see it.

6.            Last but not the least Don't come here alone I came because I had to get out of Luxembourg but if you are planning to come don't come here alone have a companion preferably of the Opposite Sex !!! you will know what I mean when you see the place.
